Centre Suisse d’Electronique et de Microtechnique SA (CSEM) is an applied research and development company involved in the design and development of micro- and miniaturised systems for industry.

It has 270 employees (mainly engineers and scientists) on three sites (Neuchâtel, Zurich and Alpnach in Switzerland).

The Systems Engineering division of CSEM has long term and widespread competencies in the development of complex systems combining communication (wireless and mobile networks), electronic and mechanical sub-systems, as well as in smart control & signal processing algorithms and software.

CSEM is currently participating in several European wireless communication projects, including: STRIKE, PACWOMAN, URSafe, TRUST and PRODEMIS, as well as, the NexWay wireless Network of Excellence.

CSEM is also a member of the World Wireless Research Forum (WWRF), as well as, one of the founding members of the HERMES Partnership. Previously, CSEM participated in the main European projects in the domain of UMTS: FRAMES, RAINBOW and FIRST projects.

In this project CSEM, using its well equipped RF and mechatronic laboratories, will specifically develop steerable antenna technology for on board the train.
